Volunteers are always needed for the following organizational support of the Pennsylvania Great Dane Rescue:
- Fostering of Great Danes:
After a home visit a volunteer family may foster a Great Dane to provide the Dane with a safe and
secure transition environment. The fostering of a Dane may last for as little as one day or may
continue for several weeks until a suitable home is found.
On occasion we need assistance in transporting Great Danes from surrendering home to
fostering homes or to adopting homes. Transportation needs may be over short distances or
over longer distances within Pennsylvania or to or from surrounding states.
- Fund raising and networking:
Our rescue at times will attend events to raise funds for the rescue and to increase awareness
of our organization. We need volunteers to attend events throughout the year in various
locations in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania area.
Our group normally meets on the third weekend of every month in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. If you would
like to join us for a meeting to explore volunteer opportunities or just to learn more about these beautiful
animals, please feel free to contact Jean Matvey through the contact the Pa Great Dane Rescue page
